What is this Fair?

THE KIWANIS COMMUNITY SCIENCE FAIR IS AN ANNUAL COMPETITION FOR SCIENCE PROJECTS FROM THE DESERT FOOTHILLS AREA

 

Who Can Enter the Fair?

ANY K-12 STUDENT FROM THE CCUSD GEOGRAPHIC REGION, WHETHER ATTENDING CCUSD, PRIVATE, CHARTER, OR HOME SCHOOLS

 

WHY should I enter a project?

A SCIENCE PROJECT IS A GREAT WAY TO LEARN SCIENCE!

IT’S FUN AND EDUCATIONAL!  AND YOU CAN WIN PRIZES!

 

How can I get started?

ASK YOUR TEACHER HOW TO ENTER A PROJECT IN YOUR SCHOOL’S SCIENCE FAIR.  THE TOP PROJECTS AT YOUR SCHOOL WILL WIN A SPOT AT THE COMMUNITY SCIENCE FAIR.

AT YOUR SCHOOL FAIR: FREE T-SHIRT FOR ALL STUDENTS ADVANCING TO THE COMMUNITY FAIR.  CASH PRIZES FOR BEST PROJECT(S)

4th Annual Tier 2 Science Fair

March 7 – 11, 2010

 

Sunday March 7th

·        9:00A.M.  – 1:00 P.M.   Kiwanis Volunteers Set up FAC

·        1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.  Fine Art Center open for students and parents to bring in projects

 

Monday March 8th

·        7:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.  Fine Art Center open for students and parents to bring in projects

·        1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.  Judging (fair is closed to the public)

 

Tuesday March 9th

·        8:00 A.M.  Judging continues, ribbons are placed on projects, notification to teachers, students and parents of all winners  (fair is closed to the public)

 

Wednesday March 10th 

·        8:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M.  Fair is open to public

·        5:30 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.  Awards ceremony for K – 5th grades

·        6:30 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.  Awards ceremony for 6th – 12th grades

·        All students pick up projects after awards ceremony

 

Thursday March 11th

·        8:00 A.M. - 12:00 Noon    Students remove projects, Kiwanis volunteers clean up

·        4:00 P.M.  All unclaimed projects will be discarded
