Key Clubs

Kiwanis of Carefree sponsors Key Clubs at three high schools: Cactus Shadows, Notre Dame and Pinnacle Peak. Over 200 students are involved through these three clubs. Key Club is a community service organization involving high school students – an age appropriate format of Kiwanis. They raise funds and donate money to local causes; they assist at various Kiwanis events; they facilitate blood donation clinics and participate in many community service projects.

Builders Clubs

Kiwanis of Carefree sponsors Builders Clubs at three middle schools: Bella Vista, Desert Arroyo and Sonoran Trails. Over 60 students are involved. Builders Club takes the Kiwanis community service format to students in grades 6 – 9.

K-Kids

K-Kids brings the concept of community service into the elementary schools. We sponsor three K-kids clubs in the elementary schools Black Mountain, Horse Trails, and Lone Mountain. About 60 students are involved and gain an appreciation of community service that may positively affect them for life.

Key Leader

Key Leader enhances the service leadership skills in youth who have demonstrated talent in this area. Through this developmental experience, the Key Leader will learn that the most important part of service leadership comes from helping others succeed.

Terrific Kids

Terrific Kids is an elementary school program that rewards children for character. Awards are made every month in every grade in five elementary schools. That’s 225 children recognized each year with fun prizes, photo on school bulletin board, and a bumper sticker for the proud parent. The awards are based on six character traits which are promoted by CCUSD. Successful reinforcement of these traits is a result of good partnership within the community.
